Welcome from the President
Tawnshi

The Oshawa Métis Council is affiliated with the Métis Nation of Ontario and has grown significantly over the past few years since forming in 2003. We run a range of activities that appeal to the whole family, all aimed at discovering, sharing and celebrating our rich Métis culture and heritage. From music and dancing, to handicrafts, story-telling, and outdoor activities, we are developing exciting programs that people of all ages can enjoy while learning more about their history and traditions.

In Oshawa there are over 1500 people who have identified themselves as Métis, and even more in the surrounding area represented by our Council. On behalf of the Oshawa Métis Council I would like to extend an invitation to all Métis to come and join our Community. We'd be delighted to help you learn more about the vibrant culture and history and the Métis people.
